Onderstepoort Biological Products (OBP) was established in 1908, and exists to prevent and control animal diseases that impact food security, human health and livelihood, and is a global biotech manufacturer and provider of animal health products.

OBP was corporatized in 2000, and over the past 13 years has continued to play a leading role in the prevention and control of animal diseases in South Africa, Africa and the world.

Solution Provided

OBP’s legacy systems were outdated and not integrated. Manufacturing of vaccines and medicines was controlled manually with spread sheets, and the accounting system was not integrated to manufacturing.

OBP’s requirement was for an ISO compliant, fully integrated system that would manage and monitor:

A detailed Diagnostic Phase was signed off in 2012, and the project has now reached the User Acceptance Testing Phase. The results of the Testing Phase are positive, with OBP’s requirements being met, and it is envisaged that OBP will go live on the new system this year
