Boxmore Packaging
One of the pioneers in the South African PET Industry, Boxmore was established on a green-field site in Harrismith, KwaZulu-Natal in 1996 by Irish packaging group Boxmore International, and later amalgamated into the US based Chesapeake Group.
In 2009 Boxmore was sold by Chesapeake to management and a locally based private equity consortium. Currently, a majority share is held by a prominent Black owned Private Equity group.
In addition to the main factory in Harrismith, the company has subsidiary operations in Cape Town (injection molding & bottle blowing) and in Mauritius (preform manufacture only). Recently Boxmore has successfully established three on-site blowing operations producing bottles for customers within their factories.
